Our Love Story

“FATE” is the belief that some things in life are bound to happen. It tells us that some people are meant to cross our paths again and again no matter how life rearranges us… no matter which path we take – a greater plan quietly unfolding beneath every choice, leading us exactly where we’re meant to be. And that is how we describe our love story, 22 years in the making.

It began in 2003, during our college days. We were simply acquaintances – two people living our own separate lives. We were never classmates, never part of the same circle, but connected by one shared interest — volleyball. In those small, ordinary moments, fate planted its first seed - a quiet beginning of a story we didn’t know was ours.

Fast forward to 2010 in UAE, a foreign land far from home, fate found its moment. Both of us were navigating heartbreak, still healing from our pasts, trying to make sense of life and love. We shared our sentiments, disappointments, thoughts, dreams, and plans for the future. There was a special bond, warm and familiar, but timing wasn’t on our side. Cupid’s arrow missed, so we continued on our separate paths and chose to remain friends.

Years went by. We slipped out of each other’s daily lives, believing our story had ended before it ever truly began. We thought we were finally where we needed to be, each pursuing the plans we once talked about.

History repeated itself. Fate has a way of circling back to what’s meant. After years of no communication, our paths crossed once more – again in a moment of heartbreak, with wounds still fresh and hurting. The bond that once faded slowly grew back – stronger, deeper. This time, the feelings were mutual. Hoping this chapter was finally meant to be ours, we took our chance… unsure of it - but ready enough to face the deeper heartache once it fails, but choosing love anyway.

Indeed, our love’s journey wasn’t easy or ideal. We faced pain, doubts, and moments that tested our faith. But we entrusted everything to the Lord — our past, our present, our hearts. We chose to enjoy and treasure the moments we shared. We chose love without conditions. We learned to accept… to forgive.

Looking back on our journey to forever, we are truly blessed and grateful to God for every lesson, every pause, every heartbreak, and every reunion that brought us together.

And now, here we are. Celebrating a love that waited for the right time.
