Our Love Story

Every beautiful love story begins in the heart of God, and this one was no exception.

It began with a prayer — not for wealth, recognition, or worldly success, but for a partner whose first love would be the Lord Himself. A prayer for someone who would walk faithfully beside them, so together, they could serve, honor, and glorify God.

Long before that prayer was spoken, the Lord had already set His plan in motion.

In 2010, two young students, Oliver Jr. and Ednalyn, crossed paths while studying BSED Major in Mathematics. For four years, they shared the same classrooms and hallways. At the time, they were nothing more than classmates. But God was already planting seeds — seeds that would take years to grow, waiting for His perfect timing.

That timing came in 2021, in the quiet season of the pandemic.

Isaiah 60:22 says, “When the time is right, I, the Lord, will make it happen.”

And the Lord did exactly that.

One morning, Oliver came across Ednalyn’s simple Facebook My Day asking for help. It seemed ordinary, but in God’s design, it was a divine appointment. A short exchange became daily conversations — not just about life, but about faith, ministry, and the dreams God had placed in their hearts. Discovering they shared the same faith was no accident; it was a confirmation that this connection was part of God’s perfect plan.

From the very beginning, the relationship was surrendered to God’s authority. Courtship was approached with biblical principles — seeking the blessing of her father, showing honor and respect to her mother, and ensuring that purity, sincerity, and faithfulness reflected Christ’s love.

On June 24, 2022, during a Math Department team building, Oliver asked Ednalyn to be his girlfriend. This was not merely the start of a romance — it was the beginning of a partnership for God’s kingdom.

Two years later, on December 4, 2024 — her birthday — God’s faithfulness shone brightly again. In a staycation house filled with family, churchmates, candles, music, and prayer, Oliver proposed. Their song Palagi played softly on guitar, and with hearts full of gratitude to the Lord, they promised to follow His will for their future. She said YES, and the moment became a living testimony of God’s goodness.

The Lord has turned those memories into a covenant-bound love.

Through joys and trials, they have learned that love is not built on feelings alone but on a daily commitment — to serve, to forgive, to encourage, and to grow together in Christ.

On December 20, 2025, they will stand before God, their families, and friends to exchange vows — not simply promises to one another, but a covenant before the Lord. Their marriage will be built on the truth that Christ is the foundation, and their greatest desire is to glorify Him in all they do.

From classmates, to strangers, to friends, to soulmates — this is more than a love story. It is a testimony that God’s Word is true:
