Our Love Story

It all began on December 5, 2020, at a quiet place called Strambi, a Bahay Pari — a residence for priests. John Nefil was sharing lunch with a few priests when fate decided to stir the air.


Janine is calm, focused, and just dropping by to borrow an HDMI connector for a nearby wedding reception.


Nefil, who was staying at Strambi with his uncle (the parish priest), was simply waiting for a call from a shipping company — his ticket to board a ship and sail away. But destiny had other plans.


As soon as Janine left, Nefil’s uncle leaned in with a grin and whispered, "Ligawan mo — teacher iyan." Later that same day, Janine received a message from an unknown person telling: “Hello, narecognize mo ako?”


Curious, she visited the sender’s facebook profile and browsed his wall. She replied “Hello po. Yung kanina po ba sa strambi?” What started as a small and slightly awkward chat soon took turn. “Pwede ba kitang ligawan?” Janine with her mind, “We just met!” she thought. It felt a little too soon, so she didn’t reply.


But Nefil didn’t give up. Day after day, he continued to message her. Not just flirty texts, but real conversations — about life, dreams, struggles, and hope. Slowly, walls came down. Their chats turned into heartfelt exchanges. Friendship blossomed and they started dating.


Then came October 8, 2021 — the day Nefil was set to fly out and board his ship. Before leaving, Janine ended the courting stage. She said yes to his sincerity, to the patience he had shown, and to the connection they had built.


She finally said yes and just like that, before he crossed oceans, their love story set sail — stronger than ever.

  • Is there parking space available for my car?

    Yes, there is parking available for everyone at the venue. However, please take note that it is first come, first served basis, so you might not want to be late.

  • When is the appropriate time to leave?

    This event took us months to plan, and we want to celebrate it with the people that are very dear to our hearts. We want you to have fun! Celebrate with us until the end of the program!

  • How can I help the couple have a great time during their wedding?

    • Pray with us for favorable weather and the continuous blessings of our Lord as we enter this new chapter of our lives as husband and wife.
    • RSVP as soon as your schedule is cleared.
    • Dress appropriately and follow our wedding motif.
    • Be on time.
    • Follow the seating arrangement in the reception.

  • May I invite a "PLUS ONE" to the event?

    As much as we would love to accommodate all our friends and family, we have a limited number of guests.


    Please understand that this event is strictly by invitation only. Kindly check our invitation to know the number of seats allotted for you. Guests not found on the guestlist provided will not be allowed to enter.

  • May I invite kids to the wedding?

    Our wedding will be an adults-only celebration. Only children who are part of the entourage will be attending. We hope you can still join us for this special day!

  • Can I sit anywhere at the reception?

    It took us a lot of effort and discussion to finish the seating arrangement, which is planned for everyone's convenience and preference, but there is no need to worry! You'll surely be seated with your friends or people that you have same interest with.


    Our coordinators will gladly assist you in finding your designated seat after registration. Feel free to ask them for assistance and they will gladly help you.

  • Am I allowed to take pictures and/or videos during the ceremony?

    We request everyone to keep the ceremony camera-free. While our I DOs are unplugged, our reception is not and definitely as a couple who loves pictures, you’ll get tons of options to take your pictures. We prepared for this event wholeheartedly.
