Our Love Story

A glance in 2015….. 

It all began in 2015, inside the halls of Palawan State University. Romel was a Mechanical Engineering student from the upper floor, while Wina was taking Petroleum Engineering just below. They often crossed paths — quick glances, small smiles, and silent moments that felt like nothing special. But little did they know, God was already writing something beautiful. Romel remembers her as the strict but charming student council treasurer na hindi basta-basta pumipirma ng clearance. Wina remembers him as that gwapo and quiet guy from the upper floor na madaling mapansin kahit walang effort. They didn’t know it yet — but that was the start of something meant to be. 

Years passed, life moved on, until one ordinary day in 2023, God made their paths cross again. During a work shutdown, Wina knew that Romel is currently working at one of their contractors, Graymont Philippines, she got curious about one of the employees. So she decided to message Romel — not totally for that reason 

— but God knew exactly what He was doing. (At sa totoo lang, matagal na rin namang nagre-react si Romel sa mga stories at post niya! 

 Their first date at Rosewood Café felt easy and natural — no pretensions, no pressure, just real connection. They talked about work, life, and dreams… and it just felt right. Soon, Romel started walking her to church, picking her up after night shifts, and eventually visiting her family to formally ask permission to court her. Before he even won Wina’s heart, he had already won her family’s. 

That Christmas, Romel joined Wina’s family celebration — and a few days later, on December 27, 2023, they officially became a couple. No grand proposal, just peace — the kind that comes when you know you’ve found the one God prepared for you. 

Later on, Romel brought Wina to his hometown in Tarlac to meet his beloved Inang and Tatang, and that moment became one of the many proofs of how real their love was. They also traveled to Cebu, a place close to Romel’s heart. He once said, “Ang babaeng dadalhin ko sa Cebu, ‘yun ang mapapangasawa ko.” And now, that promise is finally coming true. 

Their love grew stronger — grounded in faith, family, and service. Romel joined Wina in Singles for Christ, and together, they discovered not just love, but purpose. Their relationship became a reflection of God’s grace — simple, sincere, and full of faith.

 For Romel, Wina is his answered prayer. 

For Wina, Romel is her God’s gift. 

Their love isn’t about perfection — but about prayer, patience, and peace — and the quiet joy of walking together with God. 

With their families, friends, and SFC Rio Tuba community as their prayer warriors, they continue to grow in love, faith, and commitment. 

Now, as they prepare to say “I do,” they look back with grateful hearts — for every glance, every prayer, and every step that led them here.
