Our Love Story
Our love story didn’t begin like the usual fairytales with butterflies and fireworks. We were just college schoolmates. Our paths would cross, but we barely noticed each other. Eventually, we ended up as facebook friends. It all began with me leaving casual comments on her post, nothing serious, just a little attempt to get noticed. I never expected her to actually notice me but she did. One reply turned into a conversation, and before I knew it, we were chatting regularly. Mission “get my crush’s attention”? Success!
Then, my family moved to Agbuyog, Brgy. Capaclan. I’d often ride my motorcycle into town, and every time I passed by, I’d see a guy sitting outside a small store, always holding a cup of coffee. He looked strangely familiar like someone I’d chatted with online.
Months went by and we found ourselves constantly talking. Eventually, we started hanging out, grabbing food here, taking joyrides there. One night, we even sat by the seawall, watching the stars while listening to the waves crash gently against the shore. We didn’t exactly know what we were to each other at that point… all we knew was that we were happy together. And honestly, that was enough.
One particular night at that same seawall under a sky full of stars, with the cold breeze around us, we sat facing each other. And then, out of nowhere, the words just slipped from my mouth: “I’m your girlfriend now. I’m yours, you can call me mine” I had no idea how he would react.
He didn’t say a word. He just gave me a kiss on the forehead and pulled me into a warm hug.
That night April 16, 2016 was the night we both knew for sure. This was something real. This was the beginning of us.
