From the Bride
For some reason, I thought I missed my chance. But God reminded me: “what’s meant for you will never pass you.”
It was the afternoon of December 20, 2023, after a long duty day at Metropolitan Hospital, when a message popped into my inbox.
“Hi Dr. Gia. Joseph here. Got your number from Ms. Kris Hao. ”
A few moments later came another:
“I’m good. 7.5/10. Bale six times ko na narinig yung ‘All I Want for Christmas is You’ ni Mariah, so I guess Christmas na talaga. Pero hindi pa bakasyon—may work pa rin. How about you po, Doc? How are you 1–10?”
From that day on, our messages kept coming, one after another.
And then came December 30, 2023—a cloudy day I’ll never forget—when we finally decided to meet. I remember introducing myself with a simple, “Hello, I’m Gia.” And he replied, “Joseph.”
God delivered a funny, smart, talented, and—most of all—good-looking man right after Christmas !
They say that when you know, you just know. And right then, in that moment, I knew.
From the Groom
Sometimes, the best things in life don’t begin with fireworks — they start with a quiet introduction, a simple date, and the kind of conversation that just flows. We were introduced by a mutual friend, someone who must’ve seen something in both of us — a spark that hadn’t been lit yet, but was waiting.
We were introduced by a mutual friend, Ms. Kris Hao (now our Ninang 🙂)
There was no big buildup or pressure, just an easy decision to start chatting with each other. And somehow, that made it feel real from the start. Our first date wasn’t extravagant. We got food, drove around, and just... talked. No awkward silences, no forced stories. It felt effortless — like we’d known each other in previous lifetimes.
I remember looking at her and thinking how pretty she was in her scrub suit, and how easy she was to talk to. There was a lightness to it all, the kind that only comes when something is genuine.
And then, as if the universe wanted to add its own little blessing, a rainbow showed up. Just hanging there in the sky like a quiet sign — not loud, not dramatic — just a soft reminder that sometimes, beautiful things appear when you least expect them. That day didn’t change the world. But it changed mine.
