Our Love Story
“From a Swipe to Forever”
Our love story began during the pandemic, a time when the world was filled with uncertainty. But in the quiet of that season, something beautiful began. A simple swipe right on Bumble sparked a connection that would change our lives forever.
We had only chatted for about 10 minutes when she told me she was going to delete the app. She had seen someone she knew, one of her workmates, and didn’t feel comfortable staying. But before logging off, she said something that stuck with me:
“Find me.”
She didn’t tell me her full name or where she worked, but I took it as a challenge, and a sign.
So I searched. And by some miracle, I found her.
That’s when our real story began.
We started talking again, this time off the app, and everything just felt right. From late-night conversations and shared meals to laughter over the little things, we slowly built something real.
In the beginning, we worked the same hours and had plenty of time together. But about a year later, she took a night shift job from home, while I kept my morning schedule. Even though we lived under the same roof, we were often on opposite clocks. It felt like a taste of long distance.
Looking back, maybe that was God preparing us.
Because not long after, she moved to the Cayman Islands for work. That’s when we truly experienced what distance meant. But through the missed calls, time zone gaps, and quiet nights, we held on.
God, in His perfect timing, used that distance to teach us patience, grace, and how to truly value one another.
We’ve been through so much,
from sleepy hugs and early breakfasts,
to silly arguments and meaningful silence,
to long-distance calls and tearful airport goodbyes,
but through it all, we always found our way back to each other.
And now, we’re here.
No more waiting.
No more time zones.
Just love. Just home. Just us.
