Our Love Story

Our love story began long before we even knew it. Before we exchanged smiles, before we knew each other’s names, and before we shared our first conversation, people around us were already trying to match us up. Friends, co-workers, and even parents would mention one of us to the other, teasing and hinting that maybe we should meet and get to know each other. At the time, we just smiled. After all, how could you be paired with someone you don’t know yet? But looking back now, I truly believe God had a beautiful purpose for us.

THROUGH HIS EYES

After college, my world revolved around career and personal growth. Love wasn’t really part of my plans, and though I prayed for it from time to time, it wasn’t something I was actively searching for.

Then one Sabbath after the pandemic, I saw her. A girl sitting quietly at the back with her mom. Gentle, shy, graceful—she caught my eye instantly but she seemed so young, so I set the thought aside.

Years later, I heard of a new secretary at MPM—an IT graduate named May Mamungay. The name didn’t register at first, until I finally saw her. To my surprise, she was the same girl from church. This time I realized: she wasn’t too young, and our four-year gap was exactly what I had prayed for.

God has a beautiful way of aligning things at the right time. Living in the same compound gave me countless moments to notice her—beyond the shy smile, I saw kindness, humility, and the qualities I had long hoped for in a partner. That’s when I knew—this wasn't a chance. This was the love I had been waiting for, the one I wanted to spend forever with.

THROUGH HER EYES

It all started in October 2022 when I decided to work at Mountain Provinces Mission. Honestly, it was never part of my plans — I had always dreamed of working at a big IT company in Manila. But looking back now, I truly believe God had a different, beautiful purpose for me. He opened this door and quietly guided my heart to where it was meant to be.

Not long after, co-workers started teasing me with different names. I just laughed until one name stood out: Gerheart. It was unique. I knew his parents, maybe had seen him once, but that was it.

When I finally saw him, I thought, “This guy probably has very high standards.” He looked shy and serious, the type who wouldn’t even notice me. I was too timid to approach him, and every time people teased us, we’d just smile it off.

But as time went by, life kept giving us these little chances to be around each other — small conversations, quiet moments, and unexpected laughter. Slowly, what started as random teasing from friends turned into real conversations, genuine curiosity, and a connection we didn’t see coming. Until one day, he took a brave step forward—bringing our story closer to something beautiful.

What began as a playful match-up became the sweetest kind of unexpected love. And now, here we are—not just names whispered by friends, but partners in life, faith, and forever.
