Our Love Story

HER POV

Our story began long before we ever truly met. When we were babies, we lived as neighbors for a short time. My mom would sometimes borrow milk from his family — a small act that quietly connected us.

Years later, we ended up in the same primary school class. But we never really connected — maybe because of the friendly competition for top grades, or simply timing. After primary school, we went our separate ways, attending different schools and colleges.

Then fate surprised us. I returned to our hometown for work, taking over a position he was leaving behind due to a promotion. Little did I know, he had secretly had a crush on me, but I wasn’t available at the time.

This time, we became friends. It felt easy and comfortable — like picking up a conversation that had been waiting for us.

After I ended a previous relationship, something shifted. He began asking me out, though I didn’t realize at first that they were dates. I even prayed, “If he’s not for me, please take him away.” 

But God had a plan.

One day, I finally asked him what his intentions were. He opened his heart and shared how he truly felt. From that moment on, everything changed. He pursued me with a quiet, steady love that felt deeply genuine.

Our love didn’t rush — it grew slowly, surely. A slow burn that became something we couldn’t ignore. It was like we both knew we were meant for each other.

And here’s the part he’ll tell you: from the moment we truly connected, he knew — he just knew I was the one.

From borrowing milk as babies to building a life together, our journey is full of unexpected moments and quiet magic. Now, as we prepare to say “I do,” we’re grateful for every twist and turn that brought us home — to each other.

HIS POV

It all began with “Millac” — the milk we used to share. Kaya payat ako noong baby ako, kasi naaagawan pa niya ako. That’s why I strongly believe it should’ve been called “Herlac” — she’s lucky to have me in her life.

Fast forward to 2021. While I was focused on my career as a newly appointed Secretary to the Sangguniang Bayan, I suddenly got a notification on my phone. It was her — sending me chats and personal messages, asking random questions. I tried to avoid her, but she kept insisting on starting a conversation. After so many years of being absent from each other’s lives, she was the one who reached out first.

Eventually, we became colleagues when she started her career as an accountant in our municipality. Slowly, we became friends. There was this unexplainable yet familiar feeling that started to grow as we spent more time together — professionally, at first. We were both in denial, always brushing it off, believing “mawawala din 'yan.”

But here’s the truth: long before we admitted that we were in love, there had already been countless food trips and late-night talks (late na sa kanya ang 9:00 pm). Little by little, we became each other’s comfort. The feeling grew... and it developed. Now, we are each other’s home.
