Our Love Story
They first crossed paths back in college, when their mutual friend Michael introduced them. The laughter came easily, as though they had known each other far longer than a single evening. The night was young, and so were they—two souls just beginning to sketch the outlines of their lives. But youth often carries more questions than answers. Love was a language they had yet to learn, so what blossomed between them then was only friendship.
The second time was no less lighthearted. At a friend’s birthday party, they found themselves laughing again, trading stories, leaning into the comfort of each other’s presence. Yet once more, it wasn’t their season. They drifted apart like the tide retreating from the shore—still too young, still searching.
By the third encounter, life had grown heavier. She was still mending a heart left fragile by loss, while he stood in the middle of a love already spoken for. Their timing was misaligned, like two stars that shone brightly but never in the same sky.
But fate, patient and persistent, had its own rhythm. The fourth time came when a friend mentioned visiting her—and casually said he’d bring him along. Neither expected much beyond another friendly evening, but when their eyes met again, something had shifted. The years had smoothed their edges, healed their wounds, and carved out space for something deeper.
This time, the laughter wasn’t fleeting. It lingered, warm and certain. The glances carried more weight, the conversations more depth. They realized, almost in unison, that the waiting had not been in vain. Every misstep, every drifting apart, had led them here—to the moment when both were finally ready.
And so, what began as a friendship in the recklessness of youth unfolded at last into the love story they had been meant to write together. The time was perfect. The time was theirs.
